William J. Stanton Jr.

Mr. William "Bill" Stanton, Jr. died peacefully at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown on April 2, 2015 at the age of 79. Bill was born on August 4, 1935, in Bristol, PA, one of 15 children of William J., Sr. and Eleanor. He graduated from Delhaas High School in 1954, and married Joan Bright, in 1955. Bill was a proud father of 9 children who gave him 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Bill also enjoyed worldwide travels with his wife and was a parishioner a St. Frances Cabrini. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan, and their children: Robert W. (Donald George) in Milan, Italy; Lawrence W. (Katie McFadden) in Singapore; Steven F. (Gayle) in Columbia, MD; Patrick A. in Levittown, PA; John B. (Cindy) in Levittown, PA; Catherine J. Giberson (Stan) in Levittown, PA; Margaret A. Sonday (David) in Levittown, PA; Edward J. in Lansing, MI; and Sharon M. Leeson (Michael) in Portland, OR. He is also survived by his grandchildren Liam, Nicole, Ashley, Kyle, Brian, Jenny, Christy, Tracy, Michael, Matthew, Jamie, Lara, and Clark; and great-grandchildren Colin, Owen, Jacob, Christian, Nicholas. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 pm on Tuesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may also call from 10 until 11 am Wednesday at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 9172 New Falls Road, Fallsington where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill's life.
