Bill was born on May 6, 1947 in Norwich, New York to William P. Loftus and Louise Cerbera. He grew up in Morrisville, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1965. He resided in Yardley, Pennsylvania for over 40 years with his family. He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Germany from 1967 – 1969.
Bill retired after more than forty years of running his trucking and fabricating business and devoted himself to restoring classic cars that he worked on with family and friends, and passing down his knowledge to his grandsons. He built his prized ‘57 Chevy for his wife Janet, which has won many awards. If he wasn’t in his garage, he was attending car shows with his friends or doing projects for his wife around the house and hanging out with his beloved dog, Thelma.
Bill will be remembered by those who knew him as a loyal and true friend with a sly sense of humor, one of the hardest working men you ever met and a devoted husband and father. Family was everything to Bill, and he and his wife Janet created a big, strong family together.
Bill was happily married to his beloved wife Janet (Rigby) Loftus for 50 years. Together they raised four children: son Craig Loftus and wife Courtney; son Kevin Loftus and wife Amy; daughter Stacie (Loftus) Flynn and husband Colum; and son Billy Loftus and ex-wife Christa Laird. He was a proud grandpop to twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson: Samantha, Emily and Kasey Loftus; Lily Morris and Abby Loftus; Liam and Lily Flynn; and Francis, Sal, Billy, Mathew and John Loftus; his bonus grandson CJ Tulband Jr and great-grandson, Sal Jr.
