William R. Jones, Jr.

William R. Jones, Jr. William R. Jones, Jr. died on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Lower Buck Hospital, Bristol. He was 84. Born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Mr. Jones graduated from Northeast High School. He was a former baseball and football coach with various local teams as well as the Golden Oldies. Mr. Jones was a member of the Bristol Senior Center He loved the Phillies and the Eagles and enjoyed being a participant in the Family Feud Fantasy Football League. Mr. Jones was a former bus driver for the Neshaminy School District. He was also employed with Hale-Smith Realty and was a retiree of Amtrak where he was Reservation Supervisor for over 15 years. Beloved husband of 62 years to Emma Jane (Pirmann), Mr. Jones was the loving father of William R. III "Butch", Ricky (Sharon), Bruce (Nancy), Gary (Cheryl), Donna Poeckert (David), Mark (Michelle) and Jennifer Sobczak (Scott). He was the devoted grandfather of 24 and very proud great grandfather of 7. He will also be sadly missed by his sister-in-law, Edna Pirmann and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Jones was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Dana. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 10 until 11 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his memorial service will be held at 11 am. Interment will be held privately. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Philadelphia Phillies to re-sign Cole Hamels or to a charity of donor's choice.
