Wayne "Mike" Sawyer

Wayne M. "Mike" Sawyer, of Levittown died on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township. Mike was born in Holyoke, MA and resided in West Springfield, MA where he graduated from West Springfield High School in 1965. He graduated from the University of South Carolina while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He has been a Lower Bucks County resident for the past 30 years. Mike was employed with B & L Industrial Services in Hainesport, NJ for 20 years. He enjoyed coaching various soccer teams throughout the area for several years. Mike also enjoyed playing his guitar, but his greatest joy was the love of his family. He was the son of the late Roland J. and Ellen Burke Sawyer and brother of the late Roland J. Sawyer, Jr. Mike was the beloved husband of Anna M. Sawyer for nearly 19 years. He was the loving father of Tracey Jane Yeager of Levittown and Erin Jean McElroy and her husband Timothy of Fairless Hills. He was the devoted grandfather of Jack, Lyndsey and Miranda. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Jeffrey Sawyer and his wife Christine of Farmington, CT and James Sawyer and his wife Tayla of Los Angeles, CA; his sisters, Ellen Dumais and her husband John of Pittsfield, MA and Cynthia Johnson of Bangor, ME and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, August 18, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA. Interment will take place on Thursday, August 26, 2010 precisely at 2:00 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
