Theda E. Smith

Theda E. Smith Theda E. Smith died on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at home. She was 91. Born and raised in Butler, PA, she became a private duty nurse after graduating from the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a World War II Army Nurse, having served in France and England from 1942 to 1945. A resident of Levittown since 1953, Theda was a member of the Bristol Senior Center and an elder at the United Christian Church of Levittown. Her card club members were like family to her. They met once a month, Theda was the last surviving member. Wife of the late Lester L. Smith, she was the loving partner of George Beetchenow and mother of Donna (Ron) Kutsmeda, Dennis Smith and Dianna Kroker. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Ken (Jeanine) and David (Suzanne) Kutsmeda, Stacey (Dave) Ricca, and Ryan Kroker, five great grandchildren, her sister Estela Vodev and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her brothers James, Allen and Stewart Aites. Family ands friends are invited to call on Wednesday, 7:00 until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 9:30 am at the United Christian Church of Levittown, 8525 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19054, where friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service. Interment will follow in Washingto Crossing National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the the United Christian Church at the address listed above.
