Robert M. Hetzel, Sr., "Butch", passed away on June 8, 2015 at his home in Langhorne with his loving family by his side. He was 88 years old. Born on February 2, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA, Robert was the son of the late Fredrick and Emma (Stein) Hetzel. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Margaret B. (Harvey) who he always described as the love of his life. Robert was also preceded in death by his son, George F.; his brothers, Rollins and Fredrick; and his sisters Mary, Alice, Lillian, and Emma. Robert had worked as a steamfitter with Wilson and Martins of Philadelphia, and retired from USX in Fairless Hills in 1980. Robert enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and his fireplace. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Left to cherish is memory are his children Marge Hiteshew, Robert M Jr. "Butch" (Michelle), Carol Jacoby (Bill), Greg George (Tammie), James (Terry) and Jon (Jackie) and Kathy and Dawn Lewis. Robert was the grandfather to 24 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He will also be missed dearly by his dogs, Krissie, Molly and Lassie. The Hetzel family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Holy Redeemer Home Care and Hospice for the care received by Mr. Hetzel. The compassion that was shown to him was exceptional. Friends and family may call on Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Hetzel's name may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 12265 Townsend Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154.
