Raymond S. Snyder Jr. of Fairless Hills died on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his home. He was 84. Born in Altoona, Mr. Snyder was a Falls Township resident for nearly 60 years and a long time member of St. Frances Cabrini parish. In his earlier years Raymond worked for the Budd Company before joining the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Snyder worked at the RCA Space Center for 38 years. He was very proud to have worked in the Tiros Weather Satellite Program. Raymond was a member of the American Legion Fallsington Post #834. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan as well as Notre Dame and Penn State football. He enjoyed reading Western novels and was a big fan of cowboy movies. He was the loving father of Marybeth Snyder and her husband Michael Daley, Eileen Stafford and her husband Thomas, Raymond D. Snyder and his wife Laurie, Kathleen Stanton and her husband Steve and Nora Price and her husband Chris. He will also be missed by 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his sister Martha Ballweg and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Mary Elizabeth (Crane) and his parents Raymond S. and Thelma (Knisley) Snyder. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Labre Indian School, P.O. Box 216, Ashland, Montana, 59003-9989.
