Orpha Jean Kent

Jean was born on November 15, 1934 in Naomi, Pennsylvania. She was a longtime resident of Lower Bucks County, PA and was a devoted wife, mother, and nanny.

Wife of the late Charles H. Kent, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles White and Myrtle Welch; her son Charles; her sister Dorothy Shupe and her brothers Wayne White, Ellis White and close family friend Jim Welch.   

Jean is survived by her two sons Norman Kent (Veronica) and Bill Kent (Carol, deceased). She was also the devoted Nanny of five grandchildren, Lisa, Tracey (Justin), Jennifer (Ken), Bill (Lauren) and Chuckie. Jean was blessed to enjoy life with her great grandchildren, Taylor, Makenzie, Justin, Veronica, Stephanie, Charissa, Jessica, James and Chase and great great granddaughter, Madison. As well as her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Shirley and Jerry Mitchell. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, great nieces and nephews.

Jean was a true homemaker who enjoyed baking, cooking, ceramics, and sewing, especially when making Halloween costumes for the grandkids. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and penny slots at the casinos. Her friends and family will remember her for all the fun times they spent with her, along with her special talents in the kitchen, which included delicious raviolis, noodles, cookies and nut rolls. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 9:30 until 11:30 am at the John J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA. Funeral services will begin at 11:30. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA.
