Miriam S. Caisse of Bensalem died on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at her home. She was 88. Born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Washington DC, Mrs. Caisse moved to Levittown in 1957 where she resided until moving to Bensalem early this year. She worked as a secretary at the Pentagon in Washington DC and later with the Neshaminy School District at Poquessing, Carl Sandburg and Maple Point schools. Mrs. Caisse was a civil rights activist in the 1960's and was a member of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling the world. She was a champion speller at the Middletown Senior Citizens Spelling Club and a member of the Red Hat Society at Wood River Village. Mrs. Caisse was the beloved wife of the late George A. Caisse. She was the loving mother of Michelle Caisse (Larry Sprechman) of Mesa, AZ, Lisa Stilwell (Doug) of Levittown and Michael Caisse (Karen) of Green Lane, PA. She will be missed by 2 grandchildren Sarah (Sean) and Peter (Ruth); 2 great grandchildren Eva and Samuel; 3 step grandchildren Doug, Barbara and Paul and 7 step great grandchildren.
