Mary Jane Lawson

Mary Jane Lawson, age 74, of Burlington, New Jersey (formerly Morrisville, Pennsylvania) passed away peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania on November 13, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Jeanne and Edward Margavich, Sr.

She was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed by the many lives she touched. Jane dedicated her life to public service as a Pennsylvania state employee in Bucks County, retiring after 38 years. Her dedication to "workers' rights" led her to be elected as the union shop steward by her co-workers for a number of years. She was also elected to be the president of her local union and was proud to represent union members. Anyone that knew Jane knew how much she loved animals. She adored her cat, Chloe and enjoyed playing with her “grand-dog” Chassis and Chunks her “great-grand-bunny.”

Jane was the beloved mother of her only child, Victoria Lawson and the devoted grandmother to Taylor Nicole Rizzo. She is also survived by her brother Edward Margavich and wife Trudy, brother-in-law Howard McGoldrick, niece Pamela, and nephew Howard and his wife Rose. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth A. “Bunnie” McGoldrick. Jane also had a very close group of friends that provided constant love, laughter and support through the years.

A memorial service will take place on Sunday, April 30, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, PA 19056.
