Linda M Lowney (nee Keene), age 73, of Langhorne, PA, passed suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, April 4, 2017. Loving wife of 48 years to William Lowney, Linda is the adoring mother of Vincent Varalli, William Lowney (Kim) and Elizabeth Carpino (Joseph); proud grandmother of 10; and great grandmother of 4 .Linda is the dear sister of Patricia Wheaton (Ray), Joanne Keene, John Keene (Jeanne), Kenneth Keene (Linda) and Kathleen Conaway and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her sons Kenneth Lowney and Daniel Lowney (Maureen) and her sister Barbara Hutchinsin.She was an avid horseback rider, business women and activist for animal welfare. Her passion and love for animals led to a life time of dedication to animal welfare. In 1970 Linda, along with her husband, established Town and Country Kennels. She was an active member of the American Boarding Kennel Association and International Pet and Animal Transportation Association. She was also a member of the dog advisor board for Lower Southampton.Linda was involved in the oversite of research involving animals in her role with Jefferson Animal Care Committee and Einstein Animal Care.Her community activism also includes her active involvement with the Pennsylvania Optometry, Penny Pack Horse Association, Pennsylvania Dog Law Advisory Board, Orchid Society, and Feasterville Business Association. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA, where her memorial service will be held at 11:30 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of donations please buy your pet a toy.
