Kevin J. McGovern

Kevin J. McGovern of Warminster died on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Abington Hospice in Warminster. He was 60 years old.Born and raised in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia, Kevin was a resident of the Rhawnhurst section of the City before moving to Warminster 14 years ago.He was a 1976 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and after graduating proudly served in the United States Air Force.Kevin spent his career as an electronics technician with the United States Postal Service for the past 15 years.He was a die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan and loved dogs and spending time outdoors. Family and friends were extremely important to Kevin. Kevin will always be remembered for his simple witty humor. He had a knack for making others laugh and always knew when to tell a joke.He was the beloved husband of Marianne (nee Sherman) and was the loving father of Anthony "A.J." and Heather.Son of the late Edward J. and Mary Alice McGovern, Kevin was the brother of Patricia Mahan and her husband, John, Mary Alice Wittmer (the late Tom), Ann Marie McGovern and the late Edward McGovern.He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews; his life long best friend, Joe Grady and his wife, Kelly, and extended members of the Sherman family.Family and friends are invited to call from 9 until 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 3 at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W. Street Rd., Warminster, PA 18974 where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal will take place at precisely 10 a.m. on Friday, January 4 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breathing Room Foundation, 600 West Ave, Jenkintown, PA 19046.
