Joseph F. Smith Sr.

Joseph F. Smith Sr. of Levittown died on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 74.Born in Bristol, Joe has been a long time resident of Levittown.He worked as a Boilermaker with Local #13 for 36 years until retiring in 2000.Joe enjoyed the campground and fishing at the Jersey shore, traveling, spending winters in Florida and going to the casinos. He also enjoyed sports, especially the Philly sports teams, and cheering on his grandchildren.He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Villas Fishing Club.Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Carole; his loving children Joseph F. Smith Jr. (Ann Marie), Carrie Foraker (Trevor) and Andrew Smith (Jamie) and his grandchildren Joseph, Lauren, Owen, Colin and Andrew Jr.Son of the late Julia Liberatore Smith, Joe is the brother of Lorraine Nepo (Rich), Yvonne Downs (the late John) , John Smith, and the late William, Robert, James J. (Barbara) Smith and Judy Saba (William).He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to call from 11:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
