John F. Dawson, Sr.John F. Dawson, Sr. passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the age of 85.Born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Mr. Dawson was an original Levittown homeowner in Middletown Township since 1955 and was a founding member of Queen of the Universe Parish.Until his retirement in 1993, Mr. Dawson was employed as a Human Resource Manager with GE Aerospace in King of Prussia for 30 years.He was a proud US Army Korean War veteran.Beloved husband of 64 years to Jean M. (Dierolf), Mr. Dawson is the loving father of John F. Jr. (Suzanne) of Hilton Head, SC; Eileen M. Eccles (Rick) of Levittown; and Kenneth (Jeanne) of Levittown.He is the devoted grandfather of Patrick, Katherine Dawson; Christopher (Jessica), Joshua Eccles; Jennifer Fahy (Ed), Kenneth Jr., Sarah Dawson; and proud great grandfather of Adam, Ben, Eddie and was expecting the birth of his fourth great grandchild.Mr. Dawson is the dear brother of Joan Norris (Maurice) of Langhorne; Gerald Dawson (Dorothy) of Birdsboro, PA; and the late Robert Dawson and his wife, Mary.He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 8:00 until 9:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am at Queen of the Universe Church, Levittown, followed by the Rite of Committal in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Dawson's name may be made to Parkinson's Disease Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, 330 S. 9th Street, 3rd Floor Neurology, Philadelphia, PA 19107 or Chandler Hall Health Services, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
