John C. Campbell of Levittown entered into God's Kingdom on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 68 years young. John was preceded in death by his parents Henry F. and Constance N. (Harris) Campbell and his brother Harry Campbell. Born and raised in Philadelphia, John has been a resident of Levittown for over 40 years. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1962 and proudly served his country until his discharge in 1968. John married the love of his life, Dorothy A. (Heuser) Campbell in 1967. They were happily married for 46 years. One of his happiest days was when he became owner and operator of the 7-11 store on Emilie Road near 5 points. John and Dot worked at the store serving their community for 40 years until his retirement in 2012. He was a top fund raiser for Jerry Lewis' Kids and Muscular Dystrophy Association for several years. He was also active with the franchise owners association. He treasured the friendships he forged with his customers and everyone loved his great sense of humor. John was a member of Queen of the Universe parish and the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph the Worker Council #4215. John was a person who loved to travel extensively with his family. He also enjoyed his trips to the casinos and his Philly sports teams. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. John is survived by his loving wife Dot. He was the loving father of twin daughters Regina M. Calvani (Chris) of Feasterville and Angela M. Rubino (Frank) of Collegeville and was the devoted grandfather of Steven, Jordan, Juliana, Marissa and Christopher Jr. He is also survived by his sister Connie McGonigle (Charlie) of Trevose and Charlie Campbell of Feasterville as well as several nieces, nephews and his casino buddy and cousin Phil Mayer (Unc). Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church followed by Rite of Committal at Sunset Memorial Park.
