James A. McCann, age 88 of Yardley, died peacefully at home on April 25, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, PA on July,29, 1925, Jim lived for many years in the Port Richmond section and was a former member of St. Ann Parish. He moved to Yardley many years ago.With his parent's permission, at age 17, Jim enlisted in the Army during World War II, where he bravely fought at the "Battle of the Bulge." Following his discharge from the service Jim worked for the Philadelphia Gas Works, where he retired as a foreman, after 33 years of service in 1989. Son of the late Frank and Marguerite Kilty McCann. Beloved brother of the late Tom McCann, Frank McCann, Mary Dougherty and Loretta McCann. Jim will be sadly missed by his sister Margaret (Honey) Clark. Also survived by his loving niece Miriam A. Dougherty, 4 grand nieces, Mimi, Loretta, Maggie, Jamie with whom he resided, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Services and interment in Resurrection Cem. are private.A memorial mass will be announced at a later date.
