Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, James lived in Trenton, New Jersey for most of his life. Jim would then retire and devote his next several years to caring for his Aunt in Avoca, Pennsylvania. He then moved to Levittown, Pennsylvania where he would spend the rest of his days.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. He worked for the United States Postal service in New Jersey for 47 years. He was a member of the Social Club in Avoca, PA, the VFW, and the Miraculous Medal Society. He was Interested in horse racing.
Jim is the son of the late James and Mary Casey Foy. He was predeceased in death by brothers, Edward Foy and Robert Foy; his sisters, Donna Lindsey, Mary Grace Foy, Marlene Rossi, Joan Foy, Shirley Cavanaugh and Carol Becker.
He is survived by his siblings, Judy Mroczka, Nadine Foy, Nancy (Robert) Stacer, John, Gerald, William and Leo Foy.
Jim is remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown PA 19056 with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020.
