Born in Holyoke, MA to James and Ora (Champagne) McNeill, he was a Levittown resident since 1965. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. In civilian life, employed as a logistician at McGuire Air Force Base, where he served in the US Air Force Reserve, retiring with 22 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bristol and the V.F.W.
Before his ALS diagnosis you would find him on every golf course in PA and New Jersey. Later he found the cruise life scootering around the ship to people watch. You could always find Francis at his kitchen table with a beer and willing to challenge his friends to a game of backgammon.
Predeceased by his parents; his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth (Ward) McNeill; his daughter, Katie Piasecki; and his granddaughter Catherine Wurtz he is survived by his daughter Liz Wurtz (Brian); his son, Daniel W. McNeill (Lynn); his grandchildren, Collin, Daniel, Erin, Brian, Madison, and Alexis; his great grandchildren Ella, McKinley, Autumn, and Emerson
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Universe, 2443 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056. Burial with full military honors will follow at 1:00 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940. Please be in line at the main office no later than 12:45 pm.
