Edwin C. Davis died peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015 at his home in Buckingham. He was 82. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Davis was a long time and former resident of Fairless Hills prior to moving to Buckingham 17 years ago. Mr. Davis retired at the age of 65 after employment at many positions. He was an underwriter for Link Belt of Philadelphia for 2 years; a timekeeper for Yale and Towne, Philadelphia for 6 years; a supervisor for production planning with American Steel and Wire, Trenton; a supervisor for production planning with US Steel Fairless Works for 24 years in the Rod, Wire and Bar Mills and Reclamation; and the State of New Jersey Office of Telecommunications and Information Systems as a systems technician for 13 years. Mr. Davis was a Deacon and an Elder with the Northminster Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church where he was also a member of the church choirs. He was also a 32nd Degree Master Mason, Lodge 776 of Fairless Hills, a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Valley of Trenton, NJ, and the Tuxedo Unit. Mr. Davis served proudly in the 8th Army, 470th, Quarter Master during the Korean War as a light vehicle driver. He was a member of the VFW Post 6393 of Newtown-Yardley. He also was a member of the Buckingham Springs Choral Group. Beloved husband of 58 years to Marylyn J. (Weber), Mr. Davis is the loving father of Sheree Davis (Wendy Maclay) of Rehoboth Beach, Sandra Adair (Robert) of Levittown and Sharon Davis (Tony Centifanti) of Levittown. He is the devoted grandfather of Rio DeMaio (the late Susan), James E. (Christine), Edwin C, Joseph R. and Matthew D. Reiner and the proud great grandfather of Madison, Anthony, Robert, Brandon, Gianna, Jolynn, Shane and Natalie. Mr. Davis was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Mildred (Coulter) Davis and his sister, Linda Davis. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, at the First Presbyterian Church of Levittown, 5918 Emilie Road, Levittown, PA 19057 followed by interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church at the above address.
