Anthony A. Bell, of Langhorne, died on Friday, November 16, 2012 at his home. He was 89. Born in Tamaqua, PA, Mr. Bell resided in the Highland Park section of Levittown for over 50 years before moving to The Brunswick at Attleboro with his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara T. Bell. Mr. Bell worked for the Neshaminy School District for 40 years teaching and mentoring children in various subjects. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Bell was a highly active member of Queen of the Universe parish where he served as a lay minister and was also their chef for a number of years. He found great pleasure in gourmet cooking, single malts with a good cigar and good book in his hand. He was a dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed esoteric hat collecting, foreign travel and loved every one of his large Akita dogs. He was the loving father of Dr. Joanne M. Bell who resides in Boston, MA. He will be sadly missed by his stepbrother Albert Ellex and many other extended family members. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church followed by Rite of Committal in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
