Mr. Bell was born on April 3, 1941 in Caldwell County to the late Keener and Lucille West Bell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Bell and a sister, Nettie Wilcox.
Wayne is a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He attended Living Hope and Harvest Church. He was a proud veteran and Master Chief of the United States Navy. His civilian work was in Steel and Metal Building construction.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Dorothy who passed just hours after Wayne, a son, Keith Bell and wife Stephanie of Lenoir, daughters, Sabrina Eldreth and husband Ronnie of Lenoir, Kendra Bell of Granite Falls, grandchildren, Bradley Bell of Granite Falls, Colby Bell of Memphis, TN, Riley Bell of Charlotte, Dalton Phillips of Lenoir, Kinleigh Bell of Lenoir, Kyler Bell of Lenoir, great-grandchildren, Maddox Bell, Boone Bell, Nora Bell, Quinn Bell, sisters, Gloria Watson and husband Johnny of Lenoir, Sylvia Pennell and husband Gary of Lenoir and Martha Jones and husband Paul of Lenoir. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A double funeral for Wayne and his beloved wife Dorothy will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 3:30 pm at Harvest Church in Hudson with Rev. Kevin Beard and Rev. Keith Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by the United States Navy and The Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Harvest Church from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm.
