Reva Lee Brooks

Reva was born in Caldwell County to the late Frank G. Elrod and Dorothy Kirby Elrod.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dennis Ervin Brooks, Sr., brothers, Carl and Ronnie Elrod, Chris, Tony and Eddie Hamby and two grandsons, Nicholas and Cory.

Reva was a member of Baton Baptist Church and attended Crossroads Community Church. She was the owner and operator with her husband of Brooks Hosiery. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister who cherished every minute with her family, they were her life, and she was their rock. Reva was full of life, lighting up an entire room, every time she walked in. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Dennis E. Brooks, Jr. and wife Watcharee of Biloxi Mississippi, daughter Janet B. Gibbs of Granite Falls, brothers Vann Elrod of Viewmont and Billy Hamby of Valdese, sisters Dorothy E. Ward of Granite Falls, Linda Wood of Hildebran, Sheila Felix of San Antonio, Texas and Cathy Hyde of Hildebran, grandchildren Matthew Burgess, Garrett Gibbs, Evan Gibbs and Benjamin Brooks.

The Brooks family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Pendry’s Chapel, Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Rick Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, along with Mike Ward, David Hamby and Brian Deal.
