Nedrea attended Hudson High School and Catawba Valley Community College. She worked

Nadine Richards Sherrill (Allen) of Granite Falls; her younger Brother, Ned Leo Richards, Jr.
better known as Richie (Robin) of Hickory; a special cousin, Becky Benfield Sherrill of Granite Falls;
and her devoted boyfriend, Ted Cooke of Hickory.
Nedrea is also survived by her three sons. She considered them the greatest accomplishment of her life. They are Michael Daryn Carter of Hudson; Chad Whitener of Granite Falls; and Joey Whitener
of the home. Joey was born with Williams Syndrome. Nedrea lovingly cared for Joey for over 50 years, putting his needs before her own.
She will be greatly missed by her family, which also includes numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
