Mrs. Haas was born in Caldwell County to the late Jacob P. Setzer and Emma Carter Setzer Widener. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Paul Greene, Sr. and Morris J. Haas; her step-father, Norman W. Widener; a son-in-law, Bill Collins and a step-brother. She was a homemaker and a member of Worship Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Pauline G. Collins of Lenoir, Reba Greene Burns and husband Jerry of Wilmington, Elizabeth “Joann” Moore and husband Roger of Granite Falls, Barbara G. Heffner and husband Ken of Rockhill, SC, Emma Jean Cullop of Bristol, VA, Henry Paul Greene, Jr. of AZ and Toie Renee Watson and husband Garland of Lenoir; step-sons, Allan E. Haas and wife Julie of Hudson and M. Stacy Haas and wife Michelle of Granite Falls; step-brothers, Reverend Clarence Widener and Reverend Gyles Widener, both of Lenoir; 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Worship Point Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Gibson and Reverend Clarence Widener officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Collins, Mark Thomas, Danny Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Junior Page and Christopher Devan. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley and Aaron Haas and James Miller.
The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
