She was born April 17, 1951 in Catawba County to Hazel Reid Harris and the late James Pete Reid. She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents Edgar and Belle Turnmire and brother, Mike Turnmire. In addition to being a precious wife, amazing mother, wonderful Nana, and true friend, Mrs. Watson was a retired Singer Furniture employee and a member of the Baptist faith, sharing her love for the Father daily with everyone she met and constantly praying for all.
Survivors include, her beloved husband and faithful caregiver, Bobby Watson of the home; son, Larry and wife Brenda Deal of Hudson; three daughters, Anita and husband Freddie Ragan of Boone, Janet and husband Chris Aiken of Hudson, and Amy and husband Wesley Bush of Lenoir; six grandchildren, Bobby and Danielle Ragan, Ethan and Emily Aiken, and Emma and Jacob Bush; two brothers, Coy and wife Bunny Reid of Conover, Tony Smith of Valdese; a sister, Dorothy and husband Jim Walker of Advance; nieces and nephews; other family Judy Hodge of Hickory and Mano and Tommy Lindsay of Hildebran; many wonderful friends; loving companions of Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care; and her extraordinary doctors that walked with her during her triumphant fight. Her precious smile, infectious laughter, humble spirit, and voice of love will be truly missed by all.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm with funeral services celebrating her life at 3:00 pm in Pendry’s Chapel with Pastor Nicky Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Ragan, Cody Phillips, Don Beard, Mike Oxford, Ted Hartley, and Noel Philyaw.
