Mrs. Louise Irene Straub Suddreth, 97, of Lenoir passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Shaire Center in Lenoir. Mrs. Suddreth was born November 10, 1924 in Pittsburgh, KY to the late Charles W. and Helen Abbuhl Straub. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph L. Suddreth, two sisters; Emily Marly and Marie Gum and two granddaughters; Jeana S. Sanders, McKenze Whorley and a grandson, Jimmy E. Brown.
Mrs. Suddreth worked for the school system in the cafeteria for many years. She was a dedicated member of Fairview Presbyterian Church in Lenoir where she sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School for over 40 years, was a member of the Historical Society Caldwell County and the Red Hat Society.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons William Suddreth and wife Joann of Lenoir, Ralph Suddreth Jr. and wife Susan of Boone, a daughter, Judy Brown and husband Ronald of Lenoir and a brother, Charles Straub of London, KY. Also left to cherish her memory are four grandchildren; Amy Ford, Susanne Pagel, Ashely Greene and Ethan Suddreth, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Edyth Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow the service at Belleview Cemetery in Lenoir.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
