Lottie Virginia Smith

Lottie Virginia Johnson Smith of Granite Falls passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Trinity Village in Hickory.

Lottie was born on October 19, 1927 in Raleigh County, West Virginia to the late J.W. Johnson and Geraldine Whitt Johnson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Clyde Smith, one daughter; Wanda Lynn Smith, two brothers; Jack and Mack Johnson, five sisters; Nell Jarvis, Bertha Johnson, Libby Johnson, Vernie Johnson, and Gladys McCall.

Mrs. Smith was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she truly enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She loved to sew, make crafts and work on quilts. Mrs. Smith was a very giving considerate person and all who had the privilege of knowing her, loved her. She worked for Koehler & Campbell Piano Company and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son; Ronald Smith and wife Glenda of Hickory, one daughter; Susan Williams and husband Marshall of Lenoir, two sisters; Elda Baker and Nina Ingle. Also left to cherish her memory are four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service to honor Mrs. Smith will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 12:00 pm with Reverend Sam Craven Officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will grandsons and great grandsons.
