Mrs. Joyce Marie Harris, 85, of Lenoir passed away on July 9, 2022 at Carolina Rehabilitation Center in Connelly Springs. Mrs. Harris was born September 4, 1936 in Caldwell County to the late John and Essie Mae Linbarger Harris.
In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Charles Herman Harris preceded her in death. Her brothers and sisters also precede her in death.
Mrs. Harris was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Joyce attended Union Grove Baptist Church. She will be remembered in Lenoir for owning her own hair salon, The Hairport. She loved the beach, reading and playing Rook.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Reginald Harris and fiancé, Tina Pope of Lenoir, Ryan Harris and wife Kristyl of Lenoir, Mark Harris of Lenoir, daughter, Debbie Winn of Lenoir, grandchildren, Ashley McGuire and husband Michael, Ella Harris, Ava Harris, Payton Winebarger, Sarah Simmons and Daniel Simmons.
Also left to cherish her memory are her beloved great-grandchildren, Declan and Charlotte McGuire, her sister-in-law, Margie Palmer and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members, along with her faithful companion Buddy.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Harris will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Union
Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Sam Craven officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andrews Haas, David Byrd, James Johnson, Chet Palmer, Brent Palmer and Ricky Cannon.
The family will receive friends for two hour prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church.
