Jeanette McDade Roberts, age 88, of Hudson NC passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022 at the Shaire Center in Lenoir with her granddaughter by her side. Born August 7, 1934 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Roberts was a daughter of the late Eugene Rivers (Skeet) and Ina Lee Coffey McDade.
Mrs. Roberts enjoyed working at several companies in the area before retiring just in time for the birth of her granddaughter. She never met a stranger and especially loved children. She attended Lenoir Community Church for several years and was a member of Mount Hermon Methodist Church in Hudson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, James Bernarr Roberts, children, Chris Roberts and wife Ellen, daughter, Carol McCall and husband Mike, granddaughters Abby McCall and future husband Warren Still, and Katy Moore, and great-grandchildren, Lucca, Willow and Ivy Moore.
For those who want to tell Jeanette goodbye, her casket will be in the sanctuary at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church from 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm on Monday, August 22, 2022. The family asks that appropriate COVID Safety Protocols are followed to protect the health of all. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at the Mount Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. In the event of rain the service will be indoors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice. We appreciate all the loving care provided by her caregivers at the Shaire Center.
