Evelyn Patterson Lipford

On January 3rd, 2024, Evelyn's earthly battle with pancreatic cancer came to an end, as she was called home to be with our heavenly father. During her last days of life, she was surrounded by the love and support of her loving family and team of caregivers.

Evelyn Joy Patterson Lipford was born to the late Earl and Annie Mae Ferguson Patterson, on January 22, 1952 of Lenoir, NC. She is survived by her longtime companion, Mr. Cecil Hunt of Hickory, NC; her siblings Ellen (David) Carr, Peggy Jones, Shirley Rouson, and Monroe (Robin) Patterson; her children Shannon (Calvin) Johnson, Kevin Lipford, and Shaun (Cathy) Lipford; her grandchildren Porscha (Lionel) Corpening, Toia Johnson, Any and Tavian Lipford, Danielle (Nick)Daigle, and Echo Lipford; her great-grandchildren Jabien and Kendyn Corpening. In addition, she leaves behind a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers Willie Wayne Patterson, Fredrick Patterson, Tony Patterson, and Gregory Patterson.

Evelyn was a member of Patterson Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Kings Creek, NC, where she also served as the church secretary. She loved doing acts of service within her community organizations. These organizations include Kings Creek Fire Department (Ladies Auxiliary), the Kings Creek Ruritan Club where she served as president and treasurer, and she also volunteered at Amorem Hospice in Lenoir and Hudson, NC.

A Homegoing service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Patterson Grove Baptist Church in Lenoir with Rev. Willie Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow the service at Pear Tree Garden
