Elda Opal Andrews Berry

Elda Opal Andrews Berry, 93, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Berry was born in Watauga County to the late Willie Andrews and Manarkie Shook Andrews. She was a homemaker and a member of Watauga Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family, loved her cats and loved to sew and cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene Adam Berry, four brothers and three sisters.

She leaves behind a daughter, Diana Berry Hatton-Arnold of Lenoir; her grandchildren, Shannon Hatton and wife Angie of Lenoir, Aaron Hatton and wife Tara of Hudson, and Wendy Allen of Hudson; her great grandchildren, Kaleigh Hatton, Smith Hatton, Charlie Hatton, Cooper Hatton and Layla Allen.

A funeral service will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 in Pendry’s Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Jack Moses officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Hatton, Shannon Hatton, Gordon Thompson and Jerry Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be Cooper Hatton, Smith Hatton and Charlie Hatton.
