Deanna Jean Warren Hamby

She was a member of Hartland Baptist Church in Morganton, NC where she actively participated in the Caring Hearts Sunday School Class and the Women’s Prayer Group.

Mrs. Hamby’s caring heart and love of people led her to volunteer her time with the Lenoir Soup Kitchen and became a trained volunteer with the NC Baptist Disaster Relief organization where she assisted with the relief effort when the hurricane affected NJ. She went on several mission trips and in 2010 was part of the food ministry in Pennsylvania with the new church plant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Warren; and granddaughter, Kayla Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include husband, Randy Hamby; children, Brian David Smith (Kathy), Randy Scott Smith (Darlene), and Paula Jean Smith (Todd); stepchildren, Randy Hamby, Jr. (Felicia), Priscilla Hamby, Jacob Hamby, and Adam Hamby; grandchildren, Faith Smith, Morgan Smith, Ashley Smith, Nikki Smith, Whitney Smith, Angel Hamby, James Hamby, and Alexis Hamby; and her adopted mother, Shirley Arney.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 26, 2016, 1:00 pm, at Hartland Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow the Rev. Dr. Todd Smith, Rev. Brian Smith, and Rev. Dr. Steve Parker officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
