Betty Edwards Phillips

Mrs. Phillips was born on May 6, 1933 in Ashe County to the late Lawson and Lillie Orfield Edwards. She was married to her loving husband, Charles Wesley Phillips, for 62 years and was a devoted Christian who was passionate about taking care of others with her kind and giving spirit. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Cookie and Beverly; and six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one son, Steven Wesley Phillips; two grandchildren, Kayla Alicia Pitman and husband Joel, and Logan Wesley Phillips; and one brother, Danny Edwards.

A funeral service for Mrs. Phillips will be held at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2:30pm with Pastor Stephen Dagenhart officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A receiving of friends will take place one hour prior the service, beginning at 1:30pm at the funeral home.
