Betty Knight

Mrs. Knight was born on March 6, 1932 in Caldwell County to the late Issaac and Banner Clark Hice. She was a homemaker and attended New Jerusalem Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Lee Knight; a brother, Howard Hice Sr; and a sister, Grace Wheeler.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Darrell Knight and wife Mindy of Greensboro; daughters, Karen Crisp and husband Neil of Lenoir; Dianne Black and husband Danny of Newton; sister, Euna Frazier and husband Audley of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Jeremy Whisnant and fiancé Leigh Ann Blakely of Huntersville, Andrea Whisnant of San Diego, California, Daniel Whisnant and wife Brooke of Hudson, Darrell Lee Knight of Wilkesboro, Nicole Black of Hickory, Ryan Black of Newton; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Isaiah Whisnant of Hudson.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at Pendry’s Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Randall Cauble officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Black, Danny Black, Jeremy Whisnant, Daniel Whisnant and Neil Crisp.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645; and New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 2120 Startown Road, Hickory, NC 28602.
