Mr. Poarch was born May 29, 1931 in Caldwell County to the later Lester Poarch and Nancy Estes Poarch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Ned Poarch and one sister; Dora Lee Vines.
Azor was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he was a hard worker and worked many years at Drexel Furniture. He enjoyed the outdoors, and spent his free time hunting, fishing, and he was also a bee keeper.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Dixie Land Poarch, of the home,
Daughters; Donna Icenhour of Lenoir, Michaelle Hartley and husband Eric of Hudson, sister; Elizabeth Rayle and husband Tom of Lenoir, Brother-in-law; Lloyd Vines of Lenoir, four beloved grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service to honor his Mr. Poarch will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Safriet officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
The family will receive friends for an hour and a half prior to the service, from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
