June 2, 1921- April 30, 2018
Joseph Hardin Ray, passed away peacefully from this life on the morning of April 30, 2018 after a gradual decrease in health. He was surrounded and supported by his Loving Family and caregivers. During the last days of his life, Joe Ray (as he was lovingly referred to as)was born in Lacombe, Louisiana.
In 1974 he made New Orleans his home; from there he relocated to San Diego, California in 2005 after hurricane Katrina, where he lived the remainder of his life.
Joe Ray served in World War II and after his service to his country, he went to have a 38 year career at Container Corporation of America in Kenner, Louisiana. He was a devout catholic and a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in New Orleans.
Joseph is survived by four children: Pamela Hunter(Terry), Felecia Ray, Sonia Lenox, and Tyrone Ray; and a host of Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear cousin Emelda Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Octave Ray and Martina Pierre as well as his late wife Barbara Morgan.
FAITH
When you walk to the edge of all the Light you have and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown.
You must believe that the one of two things will happen.
Here will be something solid for you to stand upon, or, you will be taught how to Fly.
A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, May 17,2018 -11a.m. at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, California.
