Wesley Johnson

Wesley Johnson, age 93, passed away August 15, 2022, and is preceded in death by his wife; Jeanette Hawkins Johnson, by his parents; Virgil and Lucy Johnson, son; Dennis Johnson, sisters; Katherine Johnson, Lucille Daniels, Inita Locke, Jean Johnson, Jane Johnson; brothers R.B. Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Gerald Johnson, Freddie Johnson, great-grandchild; Nora Collins.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter; Becky Duncan (Charles), son; Stephen Johnson (Donna), daughter-in-law; Vickie Johnson, brothers; Johnny (Linda), Michael (Barbara), grandchildren; Leslie Stephenson (Chris), Matt Duncan, Whitney Collins (Rusty), Alex Johnson (Rachel), Todd Johnson (Amber), great-grandchildren; Tyler Stephenson, Clayton Stephenson, Amelia Duncan, Nolan Collins, Molly Collins, Ava Johnson, Audrey Johnson, Sam Johnson and Henry Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was born July 31, 1929 in Gates Tennessee. Wesley moved to the Bethel community in 1947. He was employed by American Cast Iron Pipe Company in Birmingham, Alabama for 40 years. He and the family joined Bethel Baptist Church in 1960 where he served as a deacon for many years. Wesley was married to his sweetheart, Jeanette for 70 years.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church from 11:00-noon. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church at 12:00 PM with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
