Walter F. Davis

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Ann Davis; two daughters, Donna Venus (Chris) and Cindy Claborn (Tony); six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 2 aunts, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by one sister, Lois Harris (Billy) and one brother, Raymond Hintson (Marie).

He is a long time member of Deerfoot Baptist Church, and most importantly he loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed golf, never met a stranger, and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

He served three years in the U S Navy. He worked at his family’s business, Hintson Sheet Metal and Furnace Company for 15 years. He worked 23 years with the Birmingham Fire Department and retired in 1991. After retirement, he worked as a Reservist for FEMA for 20 years.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2:30 pm at Deerfoot Baptist Church, 5450 Mt. Olive Church Road, Trussville, AL 35173 Phone 205 655-0798.

The family will receive friends at the Church from 2 PM until 2:30 PM on Sunday.
