He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Head and brother, Jamie Head. He was employed by the Birmingham Police Department for 15 years as a Patrolman East Precinct and Robbery Detective. He also worked for the Alabama Department of Corrections. Steve was devoted to his family, career and animals.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Brantley (Adam), son, Ronnie Head (Angie), sisters, Luwana Hamby, Cindy Head, Carol Champion, grandchildren, Peyton Head, Peysley Head, Sky Brantley, Alena Brantley and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 5 PM until 8 PM at First Baptist Church in Trussville.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Trussville with burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
