He is survived by his wife, Mary McClendon, mother, Evelyn Lovvorn, sons, Ricky McClendon, Mike (Tammy) McClendon, Scott McClendon, son, Carl Jr (Beverly) Van Wagner, John Van Wagner, Wayne Van Wagner, daughters, Shayla McClendon, Tammy (Mark) Box, Bobbie Bagby, grandchildren, Jessica Freeman, Myles McClendon, Mika McClendon, Brantley McClendon, Taylor McClendon, Skylar McClendon, Tahmira McClendon, Zeena McClendon, Magan Stephenson, Mary Hollis, John Edward Van Wagner, Cody Van Wagner, Kimberly Van Wagner, (5) great grandchildren, brothers, Gene (Linda) Barker, Steve Lovvorn, Mark (Patty) Lovvorn, Warren (Barbara) Lovvorn, sisters, Raffie (Curtis) Washington, Denise (Jackie) Connell and brother in law, James Miller.
