James Milford Thomas

James Milford Thomas, age 72 of Moody, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Mr. Thomas graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1972. He worked for the state as an auditor for 27 years and is owner of River Tree System in Hoover, Alabama. Mr. Thomas is a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of the St. Clair County Gideons. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 49 years, Teresa Thomas; a son, Jay Thomas (Valerie); a daughter, Trisha Gill (Justin); five grandchildren, Jackson Thomas, Sarah Beth Gill, Lily Gill, Emma Kate Gill, and Harrison Gill; a brother, Eugene Thomas; a sister, Yvonne White. Services for Mr. Thomas will be on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be: Cary Martin, Wade Mitchell, Rickey Lovell, Jon Hall, Doc Holladay, Steve Giles, and Kevin Parker; honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Thomas and Harrison Gill.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of James Milford Thomas to Bethel Backpack Buddies, 8332 Moody Parkway, Odenville, Alabama 35120.
