He is survived by his loving wife, Eugenie “Nina” of 36 years; 2 daughters: Christina and Diana; grandchildren, Jean-Sebastien, Mathieu, Joel; great grandchildren: Caleb, Ada, Meagan; step children: Raymond, JP (Jackie), and Collette (Chris); sister-in-law, Jackie; niece, Kim; nephew, Kelly; as well as other relatives and friends.
Tom was predeceased by his parents; stepson, Roger; and brother, Stan.
Born October 4, 1938, to Norman and Olive Sills, Thomas followed in the footsteps of his eldest brother and enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1958, he began the process of undergoing his military training in St. Jean, Quebec where he transferred from civilian into a second class aircraftman. He was posted to RCAF, Clinton, Ontario to train in regular force basic electronics in a standard group and was honourably released in March of 1959. Later that year, Tom was reenrolled into the RCAF regular in Windsor, Ontario. Following this, he was stationed in Borden, Ontario and became a trainee in the trade of Airframe Tech and graduated in June of 1960. Tom was posted to Downsview, Ontario where he acquired the nickname “Windy” by his fellow training chums.
Tom met his first wife, Gloria Hamel while stationed in Borden in 1963. They moved to Ottawa where his daughters Christina and Diana were born. The family moved to Baden-Soellingen, West Germany where Tom enjoyed travelling and being a part of a military band, playing the trumpet. He had a fantastic time playing in the band and loved the experience.
In 1975, the family returned to Canada, stationed in Cold Lake, Alberta, where, his relationship with his first wife ended and he eventually met the love of his life, Nina Joly.
In 1979, Tom was stationed to his last posting at Airforce Base, Namao, Edmonton, Alberta, living on the Griesbach military base with his family. He left the military in 1985 and worked as a Supervisor at Northwest Industries at the Edmonton International Airport.

Tom often expressed his love through the years of the C130E Hercules Aircraft and was honored to have had his military career and experiences, especially during his station in Germany.
Tom retired in Leduc, Alberta with his loving wife, Nina where he spent his later years camping until he was no longer able to. He will be missed.
