Born in Bathurst NB, he was the son of the late Edith (Kent) Alexander and the Late James Alexander, both of North Tetagouche, NB.
The most important things in Roberts life was his family which is why him and his wife of 50 years, Sharon (Doucet) Alexander moved to Alberta to be with their girls Alma (Michel) Daigle of Millet, AB and Charlene (Paul) Noel of Leduc, AB. He always enjoyed the company of his four grandchildren Samantha (Justin) Daigle, Amanda (Chris) Miller, Jessie (Faith) Diagle and Morgan Noel. Then later in life his three great grandchildren Vincent, Issac and Elijah.
He is survived by three brothers Burton (Dorthy) Alexander, Ronnie (Marlene) Alexander, Earl (Shelva) Alexander and two sisters Kathryn (Roe) Doucet, Mildred (Paul) Boudreau all of New Brunswick and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Billy and Alton Alexander, his nephews Emmanuel Guignard, Kevin Alexander, Bruce Alexander, and Neil Alexander.
A special thank you to two important people in his life in Alberta; his nephew Glen Alexander who was with us through this difficult time; He always enjoyed your visits and great conversations. To Brent who always enjoyed a good pipe with him, as well as long conversations on the back deck. Your steady prayers and support has been a true blessing to this family.
Many people in New Brunswick will remember Robert as one of the Day & Ross drivers for the past 31 years of his life. Many people in Leduc, AB will remember him as a dedicated Sobeys employee until his retirement at the age of 65. His friends and neighbors will truly miss his baking and preserves that he generously shared.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home, a Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 5105 – 45A Street in Leduc, AB on Friday November 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. There is road construction near the church, so please come early if you can.
My Husband, our dad, our grandpa and great grandpa will be truly missed.
Please, with Robert’s life long battle with Diabetes, he would rather you donate to the Canadian Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.
