She is survived by her husband Eldon Bienert, daughter Kelly (Glenn) Miller of California, step-daughter Debbie (Kevan) Regehr, step-son Garry (Margie) Bienert, grandchildren Stephanie (Adam), Daniel (Melanie), Krista (Dave), Liesel (Chris), Emily (Nolan) and families.
She was predeceased by her husband Bruce McDonald in 1968, daughter Karen Abel in 2014 and sister Valerie Marsh in 2022.
Peggy was born September 26, 1934 in Medicine Hat, Alberta to parents Marion & Dudley Nixon. She was married in 1956 to Bruce McDonald in Medicine Hat and they had Karen in 1957. They moved to Millet, Alberta in 1960 and had Kelly in 1966.
She was widowed in 1968, Following Bruce’s passing. Peggy, Karen and Kelly moved to Dawnville Farms near Leduc where with new partner Eldon, a Morgan breeding facility flourished.
Peggy was very active in the Canadian Morgan Club, Alberta Morgan Club, Rural Crime Watch, Equine Foundation of Canada, First Baptist Church and with the Youth Justice Committee for Leduc.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, genealogy (many hours) and the general history of Leduc, Alberta, and Canada. She was also a fan of Ian Tyson and cowboy music and movies. She enjoyed travelling and collecting souvenirs. She was an avid collector of knick-knacks.
For the last several years, she had been a faithful caregiver to husband Eldon in his failing health. She had a long and happy life on her lifetime farm south of Leduc.
