Marg will be remembered for her laugh, fiery spirit, and big heart. Born in Creekland, Alberta, she spoke fondly of growing up on her parents’ farm alongside her six siblings. At a fateful school dance, she set her eyes on Bill, the man she would marry in 1956. They settled just north of Warburg on the land she loved and called home for 56 years. Together they played baseball, bowled, and danced. They also welcomed three sons within four years–Randy, Brian, and Jim. If anyone could manage a houseful of boys, it was her. She always said she was introduced to her daughter when her youngest son started dating Holly in high school. Later, Marg would entertain her grandchildren and great grandchildren with stories of their adventures, which were usually funny and sometimes peppered with colourful language. A hard worker, Marg was a meat cutter, worked in many community businesses and in home care, and operated Mini Creeks Cleaning Services. She was always a family caregiver, and friends just had to call if they needed someone to be in their corner or to speak a hard truth. She was happiest picking berries, gardening, canning, and cooking for anyone she thought needed it. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and reading. Shortly after being admitted to Devon General Hospital, she was diagnosed with cancer and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. She will be missed immensely.
Margaret is survived by her son Randy Webber; granddaughter Cassandra (Eric) Carr; great granddaughters Crystal, Randi, Jazzmyn, & Micha; grandson Brian Webber; son Jim (Holly) Webber; granddaughter Jaclyn (Logan) Lawrence; great grandson Seth; grandson Jesse (Nikki) Webber; great grandson Griffin; brother Karl (June) Zajes; sister Mary Ratz; and numerous extended family & friends. She was predeceased by her husband William “Bill” Webber (1988); son Brian Webber (1969); parents Karp & Wasylena Zajes; sisters Annie Peterson & Tillie Mielnik; and brothers Tony Zajes & Stanley Zajes.
A private burial will take place on June 10, 2023. In lieu of a service as per Marg’s wishes, everyone is welcome to join the family for a community gathering at Sunnybrook Community Hall from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.
