Paul E. Weaver ”Doc”, 99, of Lancaster, PA went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 10, 2023 surrounded by family. Paul lived at Willow Valley Communities in Lancaster, PA for 24 years, thriving until a recent illness. Paul was born on May 7, 1924 in Hershey, PA to Katherine Keim Weaver and George Weaver. Paul grew up in Lebanon, PA and graduated from South Lebanon High School in 1942. Paul served proudly and with honor in the United States Army, European Theater, including the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. He had a distinguished and productive career with the Federal Government, where he worked as a Logistics and Maintenance Coordinator for Air Defense and Missile and Rocket Systems from 1951 – 1976 . Paul also served as Homes Manager from 1976 to 1999 for the Presbyterian Church (USA) Board of Pensions. Paul cherished many long lasting friendships during his military service and through out his career with the Federal Government and the Board of Pensions. Paul was a faithful and devoted member of the Lownes Free Church (Blue Church) Springfield, PA and Grace Church in Willow Valley. Paul was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Veterans Of The Battle Of the Bulge, Lifeline International, and Chapel of The Four Chaplains. He loved young people and served as Bowling Coach and Instructor for the American Junior Bowling Congress for Lower Delaware County. Serving as a leader for a group of Scouts to Philmont Scout Reservation, New Mexico was another highlight of his career. He served as Cub Master, Scout Master, and District Commissioner for Valley Forge Council BSA. Paul served for 10 years with Lifeline International, where he volunteered weekly on a crisis hotline for Contact Philadelphia. He enjoyed spending time hiking, physical fitness programs, woodworking, and all sports; he participated for many years in the Senior Olympics at Millersville University. While at Willow Valley, Paul volunteered in many capacities and joined his wife, Helen, as Angel Wing volunteers for Hospice residents. Paul was husband of the late Helen J. Weaver, who passed away March 29, 2017. Surviving are his son: Bruce and wife Carol; daughter: Paula Levens; Daughter-in-law: Patricia Weaver; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many dear nephews and nieces, friends and family members. His sons David and Rickie, grandson Ryan, and mother and father preceded Paul in death. The family would like to give special thanks to Paul’s care givers at Willow Valley for the extraordinary care given to him, and the quality of life they helped him maintain. Funeral Services will be held at Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, PA, 17042 on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00AM with a viewing from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will be at Grand view Memorial Cemetery, Annville, PA with Military Honors. A Celebration of Life service will be planned at Willow Valley in the future. Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, July 29 at 1pm at Willow Valley North Auditorium, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster , Pa.
