James R. Irwin, 76, Ephrata, died unexpectedly at his home on May 5, 2013. He was the husband of Barbara Tyson Irwin, with whom he would have celebrated a 56th wedding anniversary on July 6th. He was born in Lebanon on August 14, 1936 a son of the late Joseph and Helen Bankey Irwin. He was a 1954 graduate of Lebanon High School and had completed a data processing course at F & M College. He was retired from Yellow Freight since 1996 and was previously employed by RCA and Middletown Air Force Base. His health was declining for the past 6 years, but he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed playing golf, bowling, hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife he is survived by sons: James J. and wife Heidi Irwin; Brian D. Irwin and fiancé Patty Shenk; grandchildren: Shawn Irwin, Lauren Irwin and Luke Irwin; sister: Linda Pyles and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister: Helen (Petty) Miller. Memorial services will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 with Rev. Eugene Hostetter officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 10:00 A.M. to the time of service at the funeral home.
