Arlene P Smith

Arlene Phyllis Smith died December 30, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. She was born July 12, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to Henry and Mildred Goldberg. She lived most of her life in Brooklyn where she met her husband. To those who knew her, she was a kind, gentle, and generous soul. After many years of living in Brooklyn, she moved to Lake Ariel in the Poconos where she resided for 30 years. Arlene watched her own mother foster children when she was a child, which inspired her to then foster over 150 children of her own. She loved to garden and never met a craft that she didn’t enjoy. She lived in Carlisle for the last 6 years of her life. She is survived by her husband, Allan, of 47 and a half years, sons, Brandon and Tevin, and daughter Kayla as well as three grandchildren, Elijah, Quinn, and Emma. She will be deeply missed. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2023 at 1:00PM in the Beth Israel Cemetery, E. Maple St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
