You have my deepest sympathy at losing Scott. he was  too vital and present to be gone. I knew him from HS Cross Country runnings, and even though he was several years younger than me, he was always a stand out, both in his running and even more so in his dedication to mirth!

I lost touch after moving away, but Scott, as he  was inclined, pulled me back in on FB, which I seldom ever use.  He was one of the first to send condolence on losing my mother, and he was also one of the first to comment on a running race I direct, and offer  to come show Alaskans how to run. 

He is gone way to soon, but may his spirit and whitt live on in all of us a little bit every day.

Very genuine and a delight to work with him these past two years. His Dell team will miss him. 

When I used to get the occasional ride to school with Scott, from his dad, Mr Hamilton asked Scott to back the car, a station wagon I believe, out of the garage. Having a Fall birthday Scott had his learner's permit. As we backed out of the garage, Mr Hamilton was in the house, Scott managed to 'feel' the opening of the garage with the front quarter panel of the car. A loud noise was part of the 'feeling'. Stunned by what happened, Scott and I sat in the car waiting nervously for Mr Hamilton to come to the car. Maybe he hadn't heard what happened. Mr Hamilton got into the car and asked, 'what was that noise'? Reluctantly Scott fessed up. The fallout was not too bad.

Hopefully this memory will help bring a moment of levity to this difficult time. 


A bright light has gone out. My thoughts are with Scott’s family, about whom he spoke often and of whom he was so very proud. Wishing you strength for the days ahead.

I worked with Scott at eClerx. I will remember his kindness; his unending encouragement and support of our team; his ability to reduce everyone to tears of helpless laughter; his patience in explaining the NFL draft to a clueless foreigner; his beautifully tailored suits styled with crazy socks. 

As is our custom in Dublin when we lose those we cherish, I raise a parting glass to you Scott. You are greatly missed.

My heart is heavy this week in knowing that Scott has passed.  A loving and bright light has gone out of our world, my life and so many of those that Scott touched.  

Scott and I lived together at Grinnell in the cross county house and then we worked together for several summers at the Park Café in Montana. The Park Café surfaced Scott's alter ego -- Larry Kozmowski who would assist people in pumping their gas and offer mindless chatter in an altered voice that was a mix of a Wisconsin and a southern accent. 

My most poignant memory with Scott was his lead performance at the request of Rev. Willie Smith at the First AME Zion Christmas Pageant in 1990. We donned sunglasses and Santa Hats and Scott performed a painfully poetic rap that included Scott's most famous line ever "Christmas is more than gifts you receive its a very long story that goes back in history, so look out now, gather on around, we rappin fools are going to get down. Eeek. Eeek." Somehow Scott's rap and my quirky running man/split routine endeared us to the parishioners with a high five from the Deacon.  What a life moment amidst so many life moment's that Scott provided to so many of us. 

Scott's gregarious compassionate curious spirit invited out the best in people. He helped me to lighten up while simultaneously encouraging me to dig deeper into life's meaning. What a rare gift. 

Peace to you my friend Scott. Peace to Laura, your children, your friends and peace to our world.  With you all in spirit during these days of sadness, reflection and celebration.

I worked with Scott for about 3 years at eClerx and we often laughed together; I will miss the camaraderie with him. Scott and I loved talking football, his Packers vs my Patriots, and eagerly waited for NFL season to start. I told my other colleagues at eClerx many times that this is just one of Scott's pranks and he is going to show up laughing at our sorry faces..... 
Anyway, I pray for his soul to rest in peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with Scott's wonderful family and those of of us such as myself who were privileged to have been his friend.  I got to know Scott while were students and cross country runners at Grinnell, and while climbing trees together fleeing a young griz at a Glacier campground.   So much of the joy and love that Scott's family expresses was also true of his time with me as his other teammates.  He remained so interested in us and our lives after school, and he was in large part the force that kept us bound together.  We were fortunate to spend time catching up with Scott at a runners' reunion at Grinnell this past fall.  Of course, Scott was the one prompting us all to attend and keeping us excited about meeting up once again.  That was how Scott was there for us and made sure we were there for one another.  I and many of his Grinnell buddies will miss him sorely.

I met Scott when I was a sophomore in high school. I ran Junior Olympics all summer freshman year, and then went out for football. It was 106° Each day that August. As I sat their sweating in my helmet, I wondered, “what ‘am I doing out here?” Then I looked up and saw the cross country team running by. They were shirtless, in little running shorts with their hair flowing in the wind. And, they were laughing and talking with the girls cc team.  That’s all I needed to see! I could be running with girls or hitting guys?? I took off my helmet immediately and told the coach that I belonged over there. I joined the team that day. They made me do a time trail to see if I would be on varsity or JV. Before we started, Scott turned to me and said, “Don’t worry, JV is actually pretty fun!” Then he laughed and said, “Sorry, I’m sure you are gonna do great. Good luck!” We instantly became friends. He had this way of being very contagious and you couldn’t help but want to be around him. Thanks for the fun, Scott. You will be missed...and I will do my best to carry on your shannagans! 😉❤️

Scott loved his kids so very much and was always so involved in their lives. It was wonderful to see their live for each other. He will be missed.

Scott was a great colleague and partner with me and many on my team at Dell.   Brilliant, kind, sharp, and smart.  And many more positive, good things.   I am so very sorry that he is no longer with us.
