He is survived by his wife, Genny, their daughter, Hollie Worley and her husband, Chad, and their son, Brent Kercheville, and his wife, Heather. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren, Cole, Tyler, and Luke Worley and Brooke and Natalie Kercheville, as well as his sister, Kay Hollenbeck, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dick graduated from S. F. Austin High School, and Texas Christian University. He worked in the insurance business and in land development. He also owned Hill Country Feed and Supply in Leander. In addition, he ran a cattle operation on the family’s Sunset Ranch. He and Genny attended St. Mary, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lago Vista. They also loved to travel, and they spent many summers seeing the USA in their motorhome.
The participation in football and baseball in his younger years and golf in his later years gave Dick a lot of pleasure. Recently he enjoyed watching those sports on television. Hunting and managing the deer population at the ranch as well as working with the cattle, was also a labor of love for him. Dick and Genny’s move to the ranch in 1996 was an exciting new beginning for them as they finally got to live full time at their favorite place on earth. Being a part of nature brought joy to them both, and they loved sharing their place with family and friends.
Dick’s internment will be at the family’s cemetery on the Sunset Ranch.
